Campaign Summary (Year -11 to Year 20)

A quick overview of the various events that have occurred in-game throughout the Kingmaker campaign:

Year -11 (4699) – (Sarenith) June 21st
‘The Vanishing’: Every member of the ruling house, House Rogarvia, disappears overnight.
Year 0 (4710) – (Calistril) February 24th
The party received their first charter on behalf of Brevoy; to clear out the stolen lands so it can be reclaimed.

Year 0 – (Pharast) March 27th
The party take down a bandit lord named ‘The Stag Lord’ who had held sway over the northern section of the Greenbelt.  Signs indicate that the Bandit Lord was trying to win the favour of someone; sporting a fey shaped necklace and killing a unicorn for its horn to give as a present.

Year 0 - (Gozran) April 10th
The party travelled to Brevoy’s capital, New Stetven and received a new charter; they now have ownership of the Greenbelt and are in charge of building up a kingdom.  They make various diplomatic deals with noble houses, religions and powerful groups to secure funding and labour (in the process they snub Surtova, the ruling house as it would have turned their kingdom into Brevoy’s puppet).

Year 1 – (Gozran) April 12th
Wyvernshore is established as the capital of Dragonmere and is slowly built up, allowing the rulers time to explore more of their lands, securing its borders, making allies, mapping terrain and possible resources.

Year 1 – (Sarenith) June 21st
The rulers visit the village of Ravenmoor and liberate it from its cultist mayor.  Otto has a tryst with local girl Shel Lupescu (which unbeknownst to him results in her becoming pregnant).

Year 1 – (Sarenith) June 25th
The rulers return to their city and meet two prospective fiancées for Otto (Margot and Elana Brezeki).  During dinner Miro is attacked by an assassin but somehow avoids the attack and turns the tables on the attacker (it is likely that Surtova sent the assassin to address the snub for turning down their financial aid).

Year 1 – (Erastus) July 4th
Otto agrees to marry Margot Brezeki – the wedding will be in one year’s time.

Year 2 – (Pharast) March 9th
The group have been investigating disappearances and possible fey attacks and ended up being invited to a Spring Feast where they are the guests of honour.  They make a fey pact with a gentlefey called Emissary in order to get their cold iron weapons into the feast and liberate the captives held there.  They also meet some very interesting guests too (Troll King Hargulka, Sagroc the Bogeyman, Lady Sy, Grigori the bard).

Year 2 – (Pharast) March 18th
Unknown to the rulers, Shel Lupescu gives birth to an illegitimate heir; Zander Lupescu.  The baby is kidnapped shortly after birth (probably by Cultists of Gyronna) and Shel dies from a broken heart.  Her parents suspect Otto’s involvement and swear revenge (playing straight into Gyranna’s hands)…

Year 2 – (Desnus) May 2nd
As wedding preparations are underway a plague strikes the city and is dealt with.  Grigori is hired as a town crier and reveals that he was hired to spy on the kingdom (possibly by House Surtova, but unverified).  Royal Enforcer, Chief Sootscale of the Kobold Sootscale tribe, invites the rulers to his domain for a feast and there they meet Troll King Hargulka who is trying to convince  the kobolds into joining his kingdom to the South.

Year 2 – (Sarenith) June 2nd
With help from Grigori, the rulers foil a plot to replace Margot Brezeki with a doppelganger (there are possible signs that this was orchestrated by a follower of Gyronna).

Year 2 – (Sarenith) June 29th
For their strange stag-do, the rulers head to Candlemere Island, investigating its haunted tower – there they encounter otherworldly nightmares, hauntings, strange symbols and creatures from ‘The Far Realm’.

Year 2 – (Erastus) July 8th
The wedding of Lord Otto and Margot goes to plan, afterwards the rulers must help out a fey friend who was kidnapped by a henchman of Troll King Hargulka (who is trying to take over parts of southern Dragonmere).

Year 2 – (Erastus) July 29th
After several skirmishes with armies of monstrous creatures, the rulers of Dragonmere face off against Troll King Hargulka and manage to kill him, claiming his kingdom (which was in the south of ‘their’ land).

Year 2 – (Arodust) August 3rd
Returning back to Wyvernshore ahead of their armies, the rulers arrive in time to stop an enormous owlbear and a will-o-wisp/shambling mound hybrid from destroying their city.  This was a parting gift from Hargulka – but it looks like the troll king might have gotten some help from a mysterious patron to do so…

Year 2 – (Kuthona) December 21st
Reports come claiming that a portal to a strange realm briefly appeared for a couple of minutes.

Year 3 – (Sarenith) June 21st
More reports come in regarding a portal to a strange realm briefly appearing in the nearby forests.

Year 3 – (Kuthona) December 11th
All of the rulers (minus Otto) stake out the land around the fey tower and enter the strange portal when it appears ahead of schedule.  They find themselves in a fey demi-plane - its ruler, the “Fellnight Queen” is working to weaken the boundaries that separate her realm so she can invade Dragonmere in one year’s time.

Year 3 – (Kuthona) December 12th
Otto remains in Wyvernshore for the birth of his son.  During the process one of the matrons reveals herself to be a cleric of Gyronna, incapacitates Margot, kills the other attendants and absconds with the boy receiving aid from grieving Anya and Saul Lapescu (who blame Otto for the death of their daughter and grandson).  Otto calls upon the services of Emissary and makes a fey pact in exchange for a parcel of land which results in the culprits being teleported to him for justice, and his son safely returned.

Year 4 – (Kuthona) December 21st
After one year of preparations, the forces of Wyvernshore, Tatzleford, the kobolds and two squadrons from Fort Drelev unite to take on the Fellnight Queen’s immortal armies.  The party successfully slip into the queen’s realm, reach the castle and end her life, stopping the invasion.

Year 15 – (Desnus) May 22nd
All communications with neighbouring Varnhold have ceased.  At the request of Alyanna Varn (Maegar Varnhold’s daughter) who is married to one of the PCs, the rulers travel to the town of Varnhold and find it devoid of life except for the fey that moved in afterwards.  Signs indicate that the nearby Nomen Centaur tribe might be involved…

Year 15 – (Desnus) May 27th
The party turn down a large amount of money from House Surtova who are hoping to pin the ‘Varnhold Vanishing’ on the Nomen centaur in order to justify the eradication of the tribe.  The party then establish peaceful communications with the Nomen tribe and continue to investigate strange goings-on in the region; the vanishing of Vanhold’s citizens, strange red trees that are born from necromantic and natural energy and a powerful armoured undead centaur who defends these blooms.  In the end the group defeat a cyclops lich that had recently awoken after 10,000 years of slumber and had made use of a nearby fey artifact to steal away the Varnhold townsfolk.  The party inherit Varnhold and its surrounding land.

Year 17 –
The party travelled to a story book world and rescued Helga, Otto’s daughter, from a tyrannical patchwork dragon who sought to escape his fiction-based prison confined within a magical deck of harrow cards.

Year 17 –
After seeking permission from Varnhold, the PCs and Nomen, Emissary purchases the land around Vordakai’s tomb so he can attempt to reverse the negative effects infusing the artifact, Aranac’s Eye.

Year 19 -
The party aid a young lady hailing from Fort Drelev who asks that they rescue her family and other captives after their city was invaded by mercenaries and barbarians.  The PCs ally with the mercenaries, liberate Fort Drelev and track down and defeat the barbarian leader, Armag, who had attuned with a sword that was an artifact of Gorum which would fill the wielder with ideas of conquest.

Year 19 -
The party take ownership of Fort Drelev and the surrounding area due to Baron Drelev not being able to support the minor kingdom because of monster attacks, poor farming and pressures from northern Brevoy.

Year 19 -
The party travel from the material plane to the ethereal plane, astral plane, river of souls and then into the Boneyard in order to destroy Armag’s sword as it tried to turn Miro into a war-hungry conqueror and posed a threat in drawing others seeking to claim the sword to forge their own empire.

Year 20 –
Returning to the material plane half a year after they left it, the party discover Miro may have arranged an assassination on a member of house Surtova and made other overt threats whilst under the influence of Gorum’s sword.  Split over what to do in the party’s absence, north and south Brevoy drew dangerously close to civil war until the colossal red dragon, Choral the Conqueror, returned to Brevoy and has threatened to incinerate it in one year’s time, unless the former ruling house (House Rogarvia) are found and reinstated.

Year 20 –
The Wyvernshore rulers are invited to the 7th Rushlight Tournament in by King Irovetti of Pitax.
