Brevoy - A nation that was formed over 200 years ago when two countries, Rostland to the south and Issia to the north, were merged through diplomacy and brute force by 'Choral the Conqueror'. The nation has been ruled over for two centuries by Choral's bloodline, House Rogarvia. However, the disappearance of the ruling house during an event known as the Vanishing has resulted in political turmoil. House Surtova, who maintained strong ties to House Rogarvia, has claimed regency, with King Noleski Surtova taking the throne, but several different noble houses have disputed this and many people in the south of Brevoy (and particularly those in Restov) would love to see the nation break off into the two individual countries it is formed from.
- New Stetven - The Capital of Brevoy, New Stetven has made prodigious use of wood in constructing everything from mansions to streets to forts. It is a bustling trade city and the hub for imports and exports between all of Brevoy.
- Restov - Located in the south of Brevoy, this large city is known as the Free City of Restov as it is not run by any of the seven noble houses that control the country. It is for this reason that the Swordlords reside here and keep alive the memories and traditions that were carried out before the arrival of 'Choral the Conqueror' and the annexation of Rostland. The city is currently run by Lord Mayor Iosepth Sellemius.
Numeria - A barren and harsh land located west of Brevoy, this vast country is inhabited by tribes of savage barbarians. Starfall, the capital of Numeria, is an educated city filled with many mages and ruled by a tyrannical leader, Black Sovereign Kevoth-Kul. Whilst the tribes of barbarians can occasionally cause problems for the country's neighbours, the country itself does not manoeuvre against others, but it is very swift and brutal in retaliating against anyone that threatens it.
River Kingdoms - A constantly shifting group of city-states and fiefdoms, each at war with the others to gain more power and to prevent their own demise. The River Kingdoms border the south of both Numeria and Brevoy and will surely pose a threat if Brevoy should ever fall into civil war.
- Pitax - One of the more stable river kingdoms, Pitax is located close to the Brevoy border and the Stolen Lands and is run by Castruccio Irovetti.
The Stolen Lands - The Stolen Lands are an almost wholly unsettled region in the north-eastern section of the River Kingdoms, bordering the nation of Brevoy. Brevoy considers this land to be theirs and is now taking steps to reclaim it by sending four exploring groups into different sections:
- Glenebon Uplands - The most western section of the Stolen Lands is located very close to the kingdom of Pitax which would offer Brevoy interesting opportunities for trade. The area suffers from the occasional foray committed by barbarian tribes hailing from Numeria in the north. An adventuring party known as the Iron Wraiths were sent in to this land to try and 'tame' it, but were wiped out by a barbarian horde.
- The Slough - A great swamp which could offer a vital trade route for Brevoy, there are many aquatic dangers, dangerous fauna creatures and fierce tribes of Boggards which pose a threat to explorers. Fort Drelev is the main hub of civilisation in this trying land, run by a small adventuring family.
- Greenbelt - A forest-filled region with plenty of grassland and river routes which could offer a great deal of untapped resources to Brevoy and new shipping routes.
- Nomen Heights - The most eastern section of the Stolen Lands is often besieged by tribes of centaur, whilst to the south of the region there are many tombs and lairs belonging to monstrous inhabitants. Varnhold is the name given to the small kingdom that has been created in this region, ruled by the Varnling Host mercenaries.
The Greenbelt - This is the huge swathe of land granted to the PCs after exploring, charting and 'taming' the northern section of hills and forest that is spread over 100 miles x 200 miles. They have built a capital city named Wyvernshore in the centre of the region, based upon the ruins that were once inhabited by the Stag Lord:
- Wyvernshore - A small city built by the PCs using funding derived from hard work and through establishing diplomatic relations with noble houses, various religions and other notable groups from Brevoy and the surrounding region.
- Oleg’s Trading Post - An old run down fort located at the northern edge of the Greenbelt.
- The Sootscale Kobolds - A tribe of kobolds living within mines who have made an alliance with the PCs, lead by Chief Sootscale (the tribe takes its name from the chief).
- Ravenmoor - A small village on the western border of the Greenbelt with less than 300 villagers. The community is self-sustainable, managing to survive without importing any goods through the breeding and keeping of pigs and wide-spread crop and field management. The village has some odd customs, including keep blood-sucking insects (Stirges) as pets.
- Tatzleford - A small village founded with the support of the PCs, it's population is mostly Halfling based, with a large number of inhabitants having escaped slavery from a region far to the north or migrating from Brevoy to work and live in fairer conditions (much to the annoyance of several Nobel Houses in Brevoy).
- Emerald Kingdom - A small kingdom based in the south of the Greenbelt, run by an intelligent yet deadly troll king named Hargulka.
