As promised after a spot of breakfast Vaneer makes straight
to the petrified giant and cast’s a dispel magic which takes hold and works
first time round as the creature yawns and disappears back down the hole that
it had created without even a thanks.
Ongar now relieved agrees to keep his end of the deal and
escorts the group through the doors to meet ‘tick tock’ the foreman.
Tick tock was an humanoid creature that appeared to be made
of metal and carried around a large keyring that was in the shape of an human
hand with the keys attached to where the fingers should be.
The group approaches tick tock and asks if would be willing
to hand over this token, to their surprise he agrees providing one condition.
He asks the group to travel to the Manholds and retrieve at least 6 grubs from
the queen there so that he can use them to repair the smithy, on receipt of the
grubs he will gladly hand over the token.
Before leaving Vaneer asks about the petrification of the
giant and who did it, Tick tock informs them that it was more of a punishment
out of annoyance because the giant had halted production with his ‘accident’ so
the dragon sent one of his djinns to do the deed to show others that he won’t tolerate
idiocy.
After agreeing to the deal the group soon collect their items
and leave the volcano inn to spend the day travelling towards the Manholds.
